JULY COVID-19 UPDATE

Along with our fellow Melbourne counterparts, here we are again. Here’s an update from us; we remain open under strict Government guidelines, this means we’ve had to make some changes.

Only the following remains open at the market: – Food stalls for take away only (this includes cafes) – Fruit and veg, butchers, poultry and seafood stalls and deli – Hairdressers and barbers. Unfortunately all non-essential services have been forced to shut shop. Our heart goes out to our dear traders, and we ask that our community continue to support them by visiting our online shopping guide via link in bio.

In addition, to protect the health and safety of our traders, staff and community Market Management continue to implement the following initiatives: hiring extra security staff to monitor the number of customers into the market at one time, we’ve closed off 4 entry/exit points to monitor this. We also recommend limiting your shop to 15 minutes and ask that everyone adhere to the social distancing restrictions upon entering the market.

To assist with this, almost every shop has introduced markers on the ground to demonstrate a 1.5m distance while all chairs, tables, pianos and kids play areas have been cordoned off. We ask that customers please utilise the hand sanitization stations at the market, pack their own bags, use contactless payment where possible and if you are experiencing cold or flu like symptoms, look after yourself and your fellow community by staying at home.
