Darebin Music Feast @ Preston Market

We’re excited to be joining the Darebin Music Feast again this year and this time as proud sponsors of this wonderful event too.

We’ll be hosting The Megaphone Project and the Crate Digger Record Fair all in the same day!

The ever-popular Darebin Music Feast is back for 2017, taking over venues right across the municipality with over 100 events from 12 – 22 October. Running for over 20 years, the 11-day festival is a celebration of Darebin’s musical community.

In 2017, the event will offer audiences a diverse range of music-based experiences, across feature events, industry development opportunities and an open access program. A broadened focus will see events featuring Indigenous, queer and female voices come to the fore, and introduce electronic music and sound art events alongside Festival favourites such as the Darebin Music Feast Songwriters’ Award.

Program highlights include The Red Dusty Road, celebrating  40 Years on the Road with Aboriginal band, Coloured Stone, Mana – a live music event celebrating queerness and people of colour and The Megaphone Project, an interactive sound installation popping up at six locations across Darebin during the festival including right here at Preston Market from 8am – 1pm on Saturday 21 October.

About the Crate Digger Record Fair

We know the Crate Digger Record Fair quite well as we’ve had the pleasure of hosting this many times previously throughout the year. The Crate Digger Record Fair is the longest running record fair in Melbourne. Since 2010 they’ve been selling records like it’s 1980. Scramble through 100’s of records from hip to the hop, jazz, blues, Rock’n Rock, indie, pop and so much more!
9am – 3pm on Saturday 21st October
